Iran blasts West over Zim sanctions

illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
Speaking during the handing over of blankets, detergents, learning materials and cooking oil to villagers of Shumba District in Goromonzi West on Monday, Mr Pournajaf said Zimbabweans were masters of their own destiny.
He urged Zimbabweans to unite in the fight against sanctions.
“Zimbabwe is a beautiful country which is well resourced but what is only left is for the nation to come together and fight in unison which is the key to success,” he said.
He said just like Iran, Zimbabwe needed to increase its knowledge in research, education and technology to close all the loopholes that the west was trying to exploit the country’s wealth.
“Zimbabwe has hardworking and friendly people who are eager to develop their country but this can only be achieved through the empowerment programmes that have been going on and shun the western help,” he said.
Mr Pournajaf added: “It is because of the good leadership and governance that has sailed Zimbabwe to where it is today.
“It is advisable to rally behind the good leadership of President Mugabe because he has very strong policies that have invoked fear in the West.”
The West, he said, did not like a strong and courageous leader like President Mugabe.
“Iran is also under sanctions but we have got a strong leader like you have here and we fight in one spirit that is why we have excelled in defeating the West and I believe Zimbabwe can also do the same,” he said.
Mr Pournajaf added that Iran was an all weather friend and would always support Zimbabwe economically.
Goromonzi West Member of Parliament, Cde Beatrice Nyamupinga said Shumba district had joined hands to build a clinic, which shows that the people were united regardless of their different political affiliation. The clinic is being built under the Constituency fund.
