“The revolution overthrew a 2 500-year-old monarchy and since then, the Islamic Republic of Iran now has a legislative Parliament and holds elections every four years,” said Mr Pournajaf.
He said other achievements by the Iranian government included advancements in bio-technology, the medical field (especially treatment of cancer of the thyroid gland), laser technology and chemical engineering.
“Iranian researchers have succeeded in the production of a new type of Nan catalyst that needs no visible light to remove colourants from waste water,” he said.
Mr Pournajaf said relations between Zimbabwe and his country had grown since the establishment of diplomatic ties during the 1980s.
“My government has since made several multi-million dollar investments in the country that have cemented our relationship,” he said.
