AFRO-FUSION artist Innocent “Sarungano” Kufakunesu says his tour of Ireland has opened doors for him overseas.

He says promoters in England are keen to bring him, and his camp is currently working on the paperwork, and is billed to make a return there sometime next month.

Eugine Museredza, his manager, says the demand for Zimbabwean music and the authentic sound of Sarungano’s music has helped pave the way for the artist in Europe.

Sarungano has also been holding career guidance sessions in schools to broaden his fan base among young people.

“We have another overseas tour lined-up for Ireland, and other European countries have been making enquiries.

“We are likely to fly to England before or during the festive season.

“Our music is authentic, which is the reason our stuff is wanted overseas. We did not only perform for the Zimbabwean communities as is the case with others who don’t sing original stuff.”

Since returning from Ireland, Sarungano has released several videos, among them, Bayaloya and the song Guhwa produced by Jamal No Limits

“On the 20th of October, we released a new song and video Kumberi featuring an elite school in Norton called David Mascott Country School

“It is our deliberate effort to work with schools to create new followers among youngsters.”

He boasts a rich catalogue of songs and collaborations with others such as Mabasa eVatumwa on the song Rugare Ngaruwande.

His third and latest album, Nevanji the Prince, which he released in November last year, is still doing well.

Under the sound management of Museredza, Sarungano has managed to build a big fan base.

He has been holding several corporate gigs in and outside Harare.
