Zimbabwe’s largest egg producer, Irvine’s has pledged its commitment to offer high-quality protein, continue partnerships and community development.

The company joined the rest of the world to commemorate World Egg Day at Danhiko Project in Harare recently, where they also celebrated a decade of partnership through nutrition support.

As part of the celebration, Irvine’s donated 3600 eggs and 100kgs of chicken to the welfare organisation.

Running under the theme: “The Mighty Egg: Packed with Natural Nutrition”, the event was a celebration of unity, resilience and growth.

Speaking at the event, Irvine’s technical sales and operations director, Rob Armstrong emphasized on the egg’s global significance.

“Eggs unite us across cultures, families, and generations. They are a powerhouse of nutrition-high quality protein, essential vitamins, minerals and an affordable solution to malnutrition at every stage of life.

“We are offering health, vitality, and continued support to the well-being of children at Danhiko,” said Armstrong.

Danhiko director, Witness Magulula, expressed gratitude towards Irvine’s unwavering support over the past decade.

“These are not just eggs, they are an essential donation, a source of protein that feeds and empower our learners.

“For the past 10 years, Irvine’s has never failed to deliver eggs and chicken to us every week, we are grateful for their gesture and on behalf of the children at Danhiko, may Irvines never lack and may their business expand to other avenues they desire. Eggs are vital to the full development of any child and I want to thank Irvine’s for their generosity and for helping debunk outdated myths around egg consumption.

“Eggs may be small, but they carry a big message of health, unity, and opportunity. As we celebrate World Egg Day, let us remember what’s possible when we come together to nourish bodies, communities, and dreams,” said Magulula.
