Rural schools are set to benefit from an Irvine’s Zimbabwe chicken rearing project. The egg producer and chick-breeder has already started building chicken breeding houses at selected schools countrywide as part of its community responsibility programme.Speaking at the official launch of the project at Mapuvire Primary School in Chivi recently, Irvine’s Zimbabwe financial director Mr Godfrey Gwainda said communities could also get relevant training from the company so that they too could run viable chicken rearing business.
“We are targeting rural schools to help them venture into chicken rearing projects and so far we have already assisted schools in Matabeleland North and Mashonaland Central”, he said.
