COULD this be “the one” for musician Ammara Brown?
The songbird appears to have found happiness now, if her recent social media posts are anything to go by.
On Valentine’s Day, musician Ammara Brown surprised many by announcing on social media that she was dating the virtually unknown Daniel Sulen.
This announcement came as music followers wondered about the whereabouts of Ammara, daughter of the late Zimbabwean music icon Andy Brown.
After a lengthy period during which she neither released new music nor was active on social media, the Afro-pop/RnB singer’s unexpected announcement, made on a day associated with love, caught many off-guard.
The post, aptly titled “Forever ever Habibi”, trended on social media, attracting both comments and questions.
Little is known about Ammara’s new partner, including how they met and began their relationship.
The songwriter, actress and brand ambassador’s Instagram post included pictures and videos of the couple seemingly enjoying themselves. Ammara’s son, Khameel, also features prominently in the videos. Calling herself the “Barefoot Goddess of Ammartia”, Ammara revealed nothing further about her new love, who is believed to be Norwegian.
Her fans, whom she affectionately calls “Ammartians”, quickly congratulated her, with some asking how she met her soulmate.
Socialite Lorraine Guyo was among the social media users who responded to Ammara’s post, writing: “This helps explain why you have been quiet for so long. Love suits you.”
Online information indicates that Sulen is well-travelled, having worked in Norway and South Sudan. The information also shows that he worked as a supply and finance manager in Goma, the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He has also reportedly worked in Harare, Belgium and Nigeria.
Chido Musasiwa, who has handled Ammara’s management and publicity, including that of the Brown family, stated that the singer is currently in South Africa.
“I’m sure it is best you speak to her directly. She knows best what she wants the media to know. You can contact her via email,” Musasiwa said.
However, efforts to obtain comment from either Ammara or Sulen before publication were unsuccessful.
Ammara’s love life has consistently been a topic of public interest. But this not the first time she has revealed her relationships on social media.
Interestingly, the award-winning singer has also made controversial remarks about marriage, calling it a “scam”.
