AS fate would have it, both Chicken Inn and Dynamos approach their encounter at Barbourfields Stadium today with 22 league clashes under their belts. In numerology, the number 23 signifies new beginnings, revolution, and transformation. Could this be a turning point for one of these former champions?
Adding to the intrigue, the number 23 is also associated with the planet Uranus, known for its eccentricity and unpredictability. This foreshadows a potentially thrilling and unpredictable match.
So, which club will seize the day and claim dominance this afternoon? Only time will tell as these giants clash in the heart of Emagumeni.

A look at past encounters reveals a balanced rivalry. Joey Antipas’ Chicken Inn has recorded seven wins, eight draws and seven losses against Dynamos. Interestingly, Dynamos mirrors these statistics against the Gamecocks.
Despite the even win-loss record, the Harare giants boast a slight advantage in goals scored. Dynamos has netted 22 goals compared to Chicken Inn’s 20.
Under coach Genesis Mangombe, Dynamos secured a 2-1 victory over Chicken Inn at the National Sports Stadium last year. They repeated the feat at Barbourfields Stadium with a convincing 2-0 win. Interestingly, Hebert Maruwa, was Mangombe’s boss during that match.
Looking further back, Dynamos dominated at Emagumeni in 2022 with a 3-0 win.
Chicken Inn managed a narrow 1-0 victory over the former champions in the capital.
“We have been training well but we have some few injuries. Frank Makarati and Tanaka Shandirwa are out injured. We also miss Emmanuel Jalai due to suspension.
It’s a major setback.
“We have boys that want to prove themselves, guys who are desperate to show that they can also play. It’s an opportunity for the new players and those that haven’t been playing or featuring in the first 11 to show what they can do,” said Mangombe.

In other Week 10 matches set for today, Greenfuel will invade Mandava Stadium for a date with FC Platinum. Bikita Minerals will welcome TelOne at Sakubva Stadium while Ngezi Platinum Stars lock horns with Bulawayo Chiefs at Baobab Stadium. ZPC Kariba will fight it out with resurgent Manica Diamonds at Nyamhunga Stadium.
Tomorrow, log leaders Highlanders will meet new boys Arenel Movers at Barbourfields Stadium while bruised CAPS United welcome Hwange at Rufaro Stadium. Chegutu Pirates and Simba Bhora will clash at Baobab Stadium.
