DIAMOND Platnumz’s upcoming show in Kadoma on Saturday has triggered euphoria among music fans in the mining and farming town.
The Tanzanian star is set to share the stage with an A-list of local acts including Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Alick Macheso, Saintfloew and Gemma Griffiths.
In terms of the stars on show, this could be the biggest musical show in this country this year. Rising crooner Kurai Makore has also been roped in for the show set for Odyssey Hotel.
“It’s all systems go and we are ready to host one of the biggest events of the summer at Odyssey Hotel in Kadoma.
“We have blended the best from our local musical scene with the best on the international platform to create this magical event,” said one of the organisers.
All the local artists have confirmed their participation.
Diamond Platnumz and his entourage are expected to arrive at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport around noon tomorrow.
He has already revealed that he is excited to return to the country and will use the chance to also garner support after he was nominated twice for the African Entertainment Awards USA in November.
The singer is up for the “Artist of the Year” and “Best Male Artist” awards.
He will battle heavyweights like Burna Boy, Davido, Yemi Alade, Ayra Starr, Asake, Rema, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold and South Africa’s rising star Tyla.
Diamond Platnumz recorded a hit song with Jah Prayzah titled ‘Watora Mari’.
The artists recorded the song eight years ago and it was regarded as one of Jah Prayzah’s breakthrough songs.
It has over 23 million views on YouTube.
For Saintfloew, this will be his last booking before he launches his second album the following Saturday at Alex Sports Club.
Macheso is promoting his latest album, Kupa Kuturika.
