THE appointment of Takesure Chiragwi as Ngezi Platinum Stars’ interim coach has turned into a nightmare for midfielder Denver Mukamba.
The former Warriors skipper has seemingly been frozen out of the club.
Chiragwi replaced Benjani Mwaruwari and appears to be doing well with five wins from seven matches.
His side are currently on a four-match winning streak.
They face Harare City in their next league match at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Mukamba has not featured in the Ngezi Match Day squad for the fifth successive time.
It suggests he has fallen out of favour and there is a strong possibility he might not be at the club next season.
A club source also hinted the team’s leadership were considering terminating his contract.
He still has a full year remaining in his contract.
Chiragwi is reportedly not an admirer of Mukamba and prefers rising youngster Tendai Matindife.
Mukamba was tipped for a reunion with Rodwell Dhlakama at ZPC Kariba, but the move never materialised, after he was convinced by Benjani to fight for his place.
But, Benjani’s departure left him exposed.
Some believe Mukamba can’t go for a long run without game time, considering his fitness levels.
Could this be the end of Mukamba’s career or will he resurrect it elsewhere, as he has always done after being written off?
