REIGNING Mr Iron Man body-building champion Isaac Chimuchenga is eyeing to conquer outside the Zimbabwe borders when he competes in this year’s edition of the Southern Africa Body-building Championship in Zambia next month.
Chimuchenga, who is popular by the stage name Sugar, won Mr Iron Man title after edging title holder Vincent Kandiyero in Kadoma in June. Now he takes on hulks from Zambia, Botswana, South Africa and Malawi at the contest set for the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka on September 26.

The Zambians are hosting the show after their hopes to stage the African Body-building Championship suffered a still birth in August.
“Zambia Body-building and Fitness Federation will host the Southern Africa Body-building Championship on the 26th of September, 2014, at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka.

“We are inviting the Zimbabwe Body-building Federation to send a team to come and compete in this championship,” read part of the letter from Dan Mkandawire, the ZBFF president. Mkandawire was a guest at the Iron Man show in June and raised a storm when he said Kandiyero deserved the award ahead of Chimuchenga.

Now Chimuchenga hopes to take on some of the finest Zambians hulks like Sylvester Mwila, Marvin Mweemba and Emmanuel Mwale who are expected to contest.
“Yes I am going to Zambia and I should put a good show there,” said Chimuchenga.

Another local athlete, Tapiwa Chibota, has also shown interest in competing in Zambia.
