TONDERAI Mutambikwa says the visiting Italian scouts have selected five players who are now set to move abroad after completion of their paperwork.
The scouts arrived in the country earlier this month to look for talent.
The former CAPS United and Dynamos forward revealed that they will stage a big youth tournament which will have teams from all the country’s provinces in October.
The scouts returned to Italy yesterday. The scouts preferred not to divulge the names of the selected players but they confirmed they were in possession of all the vital contacts.
One of finest local coaches, Calisto Pasuwa, also visited the Italians during their stay to exchange notes.
Marco Cevoli and Veniero Semprini, who were the chief scouts, believe the country has good talent but it’s the players’ mentality, which needs to be worked on.
“We are very impressed with the talent which we saw in this country, it’s a nation which is blessed with good youngsters and they are well disciplined.
“They have all what it takes to play anywhere in the world but, from what we have picked, it’s the mentality that needs to be worked on.
“We are returning for a tournament, which is set for October, and we have recognised five players but we cannot share their names at the moment,” said the scouts.
