SIMBA Bhora midfielder, Donald Mudadi, says his call-up to the Warriors squad is a dream come true.
Mudadi was drafted in the Warriors team that will play two friendly matches in Morocco against Burkina Faso and Niger on June 6 and 10.
This was Mudadi’s first Warriors senior team since making his Castle Lager Premiership debut in the 2018 campaign.
Before joining the champions earlier this season, the 28-year-old was overlooked when he played for Black Rhinos, Triangle, Harare City and Dynamos.
But, after 13 rounds of fixtures, Mudadi has already convinced coach Micheal Nees that he deserves a chance to play for his country.
“It’s a dream come true and it is something I wasn’t expecting but there is been a lot of hard work put into it with the help of my teammates,” said Mudadi.
“It’s a rare opportunity which I have been given and I’m forever grateful for this opportunity.”
Before this Warriors call-up, Mudadi was included in the COSAFA Cup squad last season.
Mudadi has been a key figure in Simba Bhora’s last two games where they have netted seven times.
He has recorded two goals this season.
His second goal came at Rufaro on Sunday when he doubled Simba Bhora’s lead with a beauty.
Having collected possession down the left channel, Mudadi charged towards goal, eliminated his marker with a touch of skill and then powered a hard and low shot into the bottom corner.
The 2023 First Runner-Up in the Soccer Stars of the Year awards is expected to lead his team when they host Ngezi Platinum at Wadzanai tomorrow.
The champions are making a good case in their bid to reclaim the championship as they are just two points behind leaders, MWOS, who lead the race with 27 points.
This clash in Shamva will be a battle between the champions of 2023 and the champions of 2024.
