It’s a fun-filled Easter holiday

It will be a fun-filled long weekend for merrymakers across the country as various events are lined up for the Easter holiday.

The events begin tonight at various venues and most artistes will be busy until Monday. Merrymakers will be spoilt for choice as musicians and venue owners compete to bring the best entertainment throughout the holiday.

Bar Rouge’s music mix

Bar Rouge that is located at Longecheng Plaza will tonight host Suluman Chimbetu at Jabavu Drive in a jazz vs dendera affair that is expected to attract followers of different music tastes. The music mix continues tomorrow with a concert dubbed “Evolution of Women” that will feature Diana Samkange and Edith WeUtoga. They will combine to show the power of female voices.

Rhumba vibes in food nest

Food Nest Restaurant that is also located at Longcheng Plaza will be a nest of leisure tomorrow when Diamond Musica brings its rhumba tunes to the classic place that is known for popular traditional and foreign cuisines. A combination of good music and delicious food is likely to nestle diners and merrymakers in a special way. Diamond Musica leader Pitshou Lumiere said they will be introducing various new songs.

Pleasure on the front page

Front Page Bar in Lusaka, Highfield will be on fire of pleasure throughout the weekend. DJs D-Train and Squilla will select some old skool tunes for patrons tonight while tomorrow young musician Malax brings his sounds to the ghetto with his Afroblacks Family. On Sunday Diamond Musica takes over the pleasure on rhumba style.

Poolside rainbow party

All is set for Easter Family Fun Day to be held by the poolside at Rainbow Towers hotel tomorrow hosted by Laxcon Private Limited. The event, which is held in partnership with Rainbow Towers, will bring together fun lovers of different ages. Jumping castles, face paintings and water slides will be available for kids while snacks will come with beer buckets for adults.

Dancehall vibes from King Solomon

Solomon’s Café that is situated in Glenview has attracted people from the middle and upper class because of the classy set up and traditional meals prepared at the place. Tomorrow the venue hosts a big bash that will see several musicians Killer T, Guspy Warrior, Seh Calaz, Soul Jah Love, Hwindi President, Jah Signal Blot and Nutty O among others performing.

Generations rocking on the rocks

Generations Bar and Grill at Runhanga Business Centre in Domboshava is likely to rock with rhumba vibes when BV Labien Musica performs at the place tonight.

The experienced rhumba outfit has a history of energetic acts and the joint is popular for traditional food. Tomorrow the place hosts a family fun day with Malax and several disc jockeys.

1+1 equals three performers

Club 1+1 at Longcheng Plaza will host three musicians Silent Killer, Takura and Dobba Don tonight in an affair dubbed “Good Friday Party”. The youthful musicians will take turns to entertain youthful patrons that usually throng the spacious joints. There will be various specials on offer.

Good vibes in meat lounge

Inakis Meat Lounge in Helensvale brings an event dubbed “Good Vibes Only” that will see a number of DJs selecting various music genres for patrons. The place attracts the city’s bosses with fat wallets and tomorrow Dobba Don will make a guest appearance at the party.

Jah signals at big party

Jah Signal will be the main act at “One Big Party” at newly opened joint Padziva along Kirkman Road near Dzivaresekwa. “One Big Party” has rotated among various venues and it has now found a home.

Many artistes have been booked to perform at the venue. Jah Signal is the man of the moment in dancehall and will prove his mettle at the party.

Devine assignments across the city

Popular entertainment company Devine Assignments will host various events at its numerous venues dotted around the city centre. At Holly’s Hotel DJs will take turns on the turntables in a special Easter Party.

The party continues tomorrow with DJs Big Dollar, Octane, Rhodza and Ishman. Raunchy dancer Bev and her Sexy Angels take over the place on Sunday.

At Club 263 it will be a “Hoove and Head” promotion event on Sunday and people will get musoro wemombe and mazondo for free. DJs Scott, Mango Loops and Style Beats will be on rotation.

At City Sports Bar the DJs Assembly takes place tonight while tomorrow the place hosts Mostaff’s Birthday Bash before a dance group comes to the joint on Sunday.

Club Akis will have old skool session tomorrow and rasta night on Sunday as DJs Garry B and Sammy T do what they know best.

Let the beer flow in Fio

The popular “Madiriraro” concept goes to Takashinga Cricket Club in Highfield on Sunday and Seh Calaz will be the main performer of the day. The event will begin at 2pm and socialites Ginimbi and Pokello will be guests while Gary Tight and Alfred Nenguwo will also be part of the party. It is powered by Body Slam and Liqour Boys.

Holiday of jazz in Nyanga

Montclair Hotel in Nyanga has arranged a weekend of good jazz classics as Goodfellas serenade guests throught the weekend.

The jazz stars will be joined by Ammi Jamanda who brings her Afrofusion beat to the Eastern Highlands. Many Guests are expected at to spend their Easter holiday at the hotel that also houses a casino.

Joy continues at Joy Centre

After a big crowd thronged Joy Centre in Highfield last Sunday for David Mudzudzu’s birthday bash, joy continues at the open air place this weekend. Tonight Mark Ngwazi and his Njanja Express will be introducing their new album “Charger YeKatsono” that was released on Wednesday to fans.

Tomorrow Police Band brings various copyrights to the place while Tryson Chimbetu performs on Sunday and Progress Chipfumo shuts down Easter holiday on Monday.
