It’s a weekend of fun

As the festive season draws closer, several musicians have lined up gigs across the country to prepare for the busiest stretch of their year.

Tonight Jah Prayzah comes back to Aquatic Complex for a gig dubbed “Chitown gig of the Year”. the gig will also see Dadza D, Soul Jah Love and Progress Chipfumo coming for the show.

Keen Mushapaidze manager of Jah Prayzah said they were happy to return to Aquatic complex after almost a year.

“We last performed at the venue early last year and we will be returning there tonight. We are hopeful that people will continue their support for us despite the wet weather that has been predicted,” he said.

Chipfumo said this is another gig people should not miss.

That same night musicians Blessing Shumba, Peter Moyo, Ricky Fire and Killer T are set to perform at Mbare Netball Complex on an event titled “HIV Musical Concert ICASA and World AIDS day Build Up”.

Werass Entertainment together with National Aids Council of Zimbabwe said they wanted to create awareness of ICASA and there was need to engage musicians from all genres.

“We have Shumba for gospel, Moyo for sungura and the other two for dancehall. We are hoping that people will come in their numbers for the event,” said one of the coordinators.

Tomorrow, Killer T will be performing at Werras Bar at Glen View 1 shops for another farewell gig ahead of his SA tour set for next week.

Xtreme Afriq Choir will be recording their live DVD at Dutch Reformed Church in the capital tomorrow.

Laiton Ngolomi said they were geared up for their first live DVD recording.

“That will be our first live DVD recording and we are hopeful that all goes well. We have 11 songs that will be recorded on the day as we prepare for our show in UK,” said Ngolomi.
