REIGNING Miss Glamour Zimbabwe, Tafadzwa Kuveya, says it’s her time to shine.
Tafadzwa will represent Zimbabwe at Miss Africa International.
In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Tafadzwa said she is ready to shine, celebrating the unique experiences and perspectives that make Zimbabwean culture thrive.
Tafadzwa is preparing for a career day at a rural school.
“I have always had the mindset that ‘if you can dream it, you can achieve it’.
“From a very young age I have always loved pageants, I used to watch Toddlers and Tiaras on TLC and always wished to be those kids.
“But as you get older you lose some of your childhood dreams.
“However, when I saw an advertisement from Miss Glamour, I was determined to try, although it was scary, I found the courage.
“One of the reasons I wanted to participate was because I have always admired the impact that pageant queens make through their platforms.
“My main goal as Miss Glamour is to promote access to all kinds of education to all kinds of people because knowledge is power.”
She added:
“At Miss Africa International, I’ll represent our traditions, music and art, upholding values like Ubuntu.
“I will advocate for access to quality education for all because I believe it empowers individuals and addresses social issues like poverty and child marriages.”
Surrounded by a loving network of family, friends, and mentors, Tafadzwa said she will find guidance and encouragement in times of need.
“As Miss Glamour Zimbabwe, I’ll proudly represent our country’s warm hospitality, stunning landscapes and rich history.
“I’ll engage with international audiences through social media, cultural events and diplomatic engagements, showcasing Zimbabwe’s beauty and promoting tourism.
“Through Miss Africa International, I want to convey a message of hope, resilience and unity.
“I’ll celebrate Zimbabwe’s diversity and promote cultural exchange, encouraging people to appreciate and respect our differences.
“My family, friends and mentors will provide guidance and encouragement. I am a Christian so I also spend time in prayer and reading the word of God which gives me peace,” she said.
The date for Miss Africa International has not been set yet.
Last year it was held in Accra, Ghana, in December.
