Highlanders are a formidable side, their history says it all. You cannot ignore the fact that we are in a neck-to-neck race with them.
Whenever we are playing we just have to know what is happening on the other side where Highlanders are. Each time we win and remain on top, we breathe a sigh of relief.
As Dynamos supporters we want our team to win every game they play. As it is Callisto Pasuwa wants to prove that his achievements last year were not a fluke after he won a league and cup double having joined the club when morale was at its lowest ebb towards the second half of the race.
As it is, the remaining games are not about the coach alone, it’s something that is there for the family, supporters, players, technical team and the executive. We have to come together and be involved to conquer all before us.
We need to be at the stadium if we are to add value to the campaign because as supporters we take the 12th player’s slot.
Truly speaking as Dynamos supporters what concerns us is what is happening on Highlanders side.
In the last games, as maDeMbare, our focus is on winning our own games. We cannot afford to lose a single match as that could cost us the championship. It is not time for any slip ups and we are as much worried as Highlanders who are breathing down on our neck.
In the event of a tie we have a healthy goal difference and we will edge them but we have the onus to win our three matches against Hardbody, Monomotapa and Buffaloes.
They will be difficult games. Buffaloes are chasing a respectable finish among the top eight in the top-flight league. They have everything including pride to fight for.
Hardbody are in the relegation mix, they will fight to the end and Monomotapa want to consolidate their third position chances, all these are difficult games that we must win.
Our opponents Highlanders also could find it very difficult in the capital as we will all go there to support Blue Rangers so that they dent Bosso’s chances.
We are even contemplating going to Gweru to support Hardbody so that Dynamos widens the gap.
Highlanders have an edge over FC Platinum, the Zvishavane team is yet to beat Bosso in two years.
Bosso should not bank on other teams’ battles in the boardroom. It is a matter between us and Hwange and not them, they should mind their own business.
Why is it Highlanders are making more noise about the match than Hwange themselves?
That should be left to the powers that be in the game, we have faith in our soccer justice system in Zimbabwe.
Asiagate is a very unfortunate situation that has affected our players. There are people who masterminded that and the poor players fell for the trap given the prevailing economic environment then. Asiagate will affect Dynamos in a big way, coaches have been working with these players for a very long time and they have been part of the squad, it will really affect Dynamos.
We have a pool of players but to mould them to what we have as a team now, could be very difficult.
Match-fixing on the local scene in the run up to the close of season cannot be written off though it might be there at a lower level.
Zimbabwe has learnt a lesson from Asiagate, many would not dare attempt that. We are gunning for the league and cup double, remember we are still in the race for both we just want to make a photocopy of last year.
Highlanders should know that it was not by chance that we rose to the top, theirs is fighting with the rest of the 15 teams for number two.
DeMbare Chazunguza.
Regardless of the outcome of matches, can we all avoid violence at stadia in all the remaining games be it Highlanders or Dynamos.
