A 34-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo woman has been arrested after she was allegedly caught red-handed with a stash of polished ivory bangles and stamps at Bradfield Shopping Centre.

Police say Muchapirei Milliam of Malindela suburb was busted on August 30 by detectives from the CID Minerals, Flora and Fauna Unit following a tip-off that she was hunting for buyers.

On searching her brown carrier bag, detectives reportedly found 42 polished ivory bangles and 12 polished ivory stamps of different sizes. She failed to produce permits to possess or sell the items, leading to her arrest.

Police have applauded members of the public for the tip-off and warned that anyone dealing in ivory without proper papers will face the full wrath of the law.
