Ivory, shotgun, drugs found in police raids

POLICE have confirmed the arrest of Conna Edwards, Memory Mushayi, Emmanuel Tendai Chikomwe and Douglas Gowe for unlawful possession of drugs.

Police said detectives from the CID arrested Edwards on November 11.

“Detectives from CID, Drugs and Narcotics, Harare acted on a tip-off and arrested Edwards, (22) for unlawful possession of a Browning 12 Gauge Shotgun and 30 x 12 mm bore rounds of ammunition as well as 2kg dagga with a street value of $1 400 000.

Police said on the same day, detectives from CID, Drugs and Narcotics, Harare arrested Mushayi for unlawful possession of 1.21 grammes of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $10 400.”

On November 12, detectives from CID Minerals, Flora and Fauna Unit, Harare reacted to  a tip-off  and arrested Emmanuel Tendai Chikomwe (28) and Douglas Gowe, (27) along Nelson Mandela Avenue for possessing raw unmarked ivory without a   permit.

“The recovered elephant tusks weighed 2kg and are valued at US$340,” said the police.
