Whether on the local or international stage, Iyasa dance group has always proved they have the mantle to advance in any arts terrain.

Their recent stint with Datlabs, judging by 9 000 views and counting on Facebook within three days of posting the Campha advert, Iyasa has proven that it is a versatile group.

The advert which features all Iyasa members, Donna N from Skyz Metro FM and Ishmael Muvhingi from Siyaya was shot in the Bulawayo city centre and in an upmarket house in Hillside.

Borrowing from their track Sjaiva Sibancane, for the theme song on the advertisement, the advert comes packed with the groovy catchy appeal usually associated with energetic Iyasa dance moves.

Director of Iyasa Nkululeko Dube said they were happy to be offered the opportunity by Datlabs and did justice to the offer.

a?We are elated by the response we are getting from Facebook. We were given a brief on the product by Datlabs and l then created a script for it. My idea was to use something catchy, and sing along and there would not be a better choice than our popular song Sjaiva Sibancane,a? said Dube.

After working on the script, Dube said he had to come up with lyrics for the advertisement theme resonating with Campha care.

a?I rewrote the lyrics for the song Sjaiva Sbancane to suit the theme and briefed the cast and went to the studio to record the song for the video,a? he said.

The one-minute video which has 25 artistes was produced by Dube who co-directed it with Tswarelo Mothobi who shot and edited the advert.

Dube, though, could not reveal the budget for the production but said that it took them three days to come up with the advert.

a?It took us three days to shoot all clips on the different venues and it was an exciting shoot. Itas a pity we could not use all shots we got because to compress that to a minute is a huge task on its own,a? he said. .
