The curtain came down on the 2026 International Youth Fellowship World Camp in spectacular fashion as more than 20 000 delegates from across the globe celebrated a week of transformation, cultural exchange, and spiritual renewal at the closing ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
The week-long gathering, which attracted participants from scores of countries, lived up to its reputation as one of the world’s largest youth leadership and character development programmes, blending Mind Education, biblical teachings, cultural performances, and international fellowship into an unforgettable experience.
From inspiring sermons and interactive Mind Education sessions to vibrant cultural showcases, music, and dance performances, delegates were immersed in activities designed to reshape perspectives, strengthen moral values, and encourage global unity.
The camp’s central message remained clear throughout the week — changing the world begins by changing the mind.
One of the major highlights of the closing ceremony was a world-class musical extravaganza featuring Grammy Award-winning performers, internationally acclaimed musicians, award-winning choir conductors, composers, trumpeters, saxophonists, and renowned vocalists who brought the audience to its feet with breathtaking performances.
However, it was the internationally celebrated Gracious Choir that once again stole the hearts of thousands.
Known for its remarkable musical excellence and theatrical stage productions, the choir captivated audiences with performances in several languages, including special renditions dedicated to Zimbabwe.
The choir delighted Zimbabwean delegates by performing the beloved gospel songs “Siyabonga Jesu” and “Wahamba Nathi” in flawless Ndebele and Shona, drawing emotional applause from the audience during one of the sessions.
For many Zimbabweans attending the camp, hearing their native languages performed on one of the world’s biggest youth stages was a touching gesture that reflected the fellowship’s commitment to embracing every culture represented at the gathering.
The choir’s polished choreography, cinematic stage production, and flawless harmonies received standing ovations from delegates throughout the packed auditorium.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, International Youth Fellowship founder Pastor Ock Soo Park urged young people to become ambassadors of hope by embracing positive thinking and serving humanity.
“When the heart changes, life changes. When the mind changes, families, communities, and nations also change. Our dream is to raise young people who can overcome challenges through the right mindset and become leaders who bring hope to the world,” he said.
Zimbabwe’s VIP delegate Mrs Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga hailed the camp as a life-changing experience that had inspired delegates from every continent.
“This has been an extraordinary blessing not only to the young people, but also to ministers, government officials, and every participant who attended. The organisers have demonstrated exceptional excellence, hospitality, and genuine love for humanity. The lessons we have received through Mind Education, spiritual teachings, and cultural exchange are invaluable and can positively transform our nations if embraced,” she said.
She added that South Korea had demonstrated how discipline, strong values, and investment in young people could contribute significantly to national development.
“The warmth of the Korean people, their rich culture, and unwavering commitment to developing future leaders leave lessons that every nation can learn from,” she added.
Participants also spoke of the profound impact the camp had made on their lives.
Brazilian delegate Lucas Ferreira described the experience as one of the most memorable moments of his life.
“I came here expecting a conference, but I am leaving with a new family. I have met friends from every continent, learnt about different cultures, and discovered that despite our differences, we all dream of a better future. This camp has changed the way I think.”
Throughout the week, delegates participated in Mind Education lectures focusing on overcoming challenges, building resilience, developing leadership, and fostering healthy relationships.
Religious programmes, including daily sermons and fellowship sessions, complemented the educational activities by encouraging participants to cultivate compassion, integrity, and selflessness.
Cultural exhibitions showcased the traditions, music, and dances of participating nations, creating an atmosphere where diversity was celebrated rather than divided.
As thousands of delegates exchanged farewells and national flags waved inside the venue during the grand finale, the closing ceremony symbolised far more than the end of another successful camp.
It marked the strengthening of international friendships, renewed hope among young leaders, and a shared commitment to building peaceful societies through transformed minds.
For Zimbabwe’s delegation, the 2026 IYF World Camp will be remembered not only for its world-class organisation, inspirational teachings and spectacular entertainment, but also for the powerful reminder that regardless of language, race or nationality, humanity is united by common dreams.
