TRINITY Matenganyika, a model and actress from Harare, is a multi-talented individual who has faced and overcome many challenges typical for women in the arts industry.
She has experience as a TV presenter, award-winning fitness trainer, scriptwriter, film director, photographer, choreographer and video vixen.
However, Matenganyika admits that financial limitations have hindered her dream of owning a film studio.
“I have done a lot, but there is no money. It’s hard to save the little we get and it’s not easy to be in this industry, especially as a woman, but I keep soldiering on,” she said.
Despite this, she has won several crowns and participated in many fashion shows.
Matenganyika has always had a passion for the arts industry, studying film and theatre arts at Midlands State University.
She has written and directed numerous short films and starred in others, including The Tunnel and Kubhusha.
“I have always been passionate about the arts industry since I did public speaking in high school.
“I have written and directed a few short films on YouTube and I am the writer and director of The Missing beauty, Slay Queen, Do or Die.
“These are feature films on YouTube, while Do or Die is a movement towards condomisation. It encourages youths, especially university students, to protect themselves from HIV / AIDS infections.
The film is on the MSU YouTube channel.
“I starred in The Tunnel as the lead actress.
The Tunnel is a short horror film about a man who came back for revenge after being betrayed by a greedy friend who wanted to take over his company, wife and kids,” she said.
Matenganyika has also worked as a TV presenter for Lifestyle and Motivation and producer for various shows, including BodyPride, a fitness TV show on ZBC.
The model also has several crowns to her, among them Miss Valentine Kariba 2023, Miss Christian Zimbabwe 2023, Miss Valentine Mutare 2023, Miss Queens Shamva Best Talent 2023 and Miss Winter Zimbabwe 1st Runner Up 2021, among others.
