Hollywood based make-up artist Jackie Mgido hosted a successful make-up master class for free of charge recently which was aimed at equipping women.
The class which was held at Queen Elizabeth Girls High school saw close to a hundred women from different walks of life being brought together.
She said it’s her wish to bring women together through initiatives which empower them.
“Before the year ends I want to bring women together and help them start their own makeup businesses.
“I also want to give them knowledge of how to apply their own makeup, free of charge that is my way of giving back to the society this year,” she said.
Some women came as far as Masvingo and Kwekwe to grace the event.
“I came from Masvingo and I had to spend the night here in Harare so that I could make it for the class.
“I am very excited to have received this opportunity, this is a great move by Jackie. Other make-up artists charge as much as US$45 for a lesson and here we are receiving it for free from ‘The Mighty Jackie Mgido’ ,” said Mascline from Masvingo.
Jackie taught the ladies the brow fundamentals, proper foundation application, how to cover blemishes, the proper eyelash application and how to do a smoky eye.
The masterclass was graced by the presence of Yahya Goodvibes and Noma from Nash TV.
Poptain also made a guest appearance right at the end of the class.
Various makeup artists were also in attendance.
Women who were in attendance received a mini make-up bag worth close to US$50 as well as a magenta lipgloss, courtesy of Mr Mgido.
