THE annual Jadel Football Academy fiesta has been pencilled in for Rufaro Stadium on National Youth Day, with 12 teams set to take part.
Jadel FA China will add an international feel to the meet, which will be attended by Government and ZIFA officials.
It is this event where talented kids are picked for further grooming and eventual participation in the annual internationally acclaimed 100 Team Cup in Beijing, China in July-August.
Jadel FA International founder and director Walter “Ringers” Musanhu said: “Basically all is set for the annual Jadel Football Academy tournament at Rufaro Stadium on February 21.
“We have travelled with scouts from other academies dotted around China who will pick impressive kids who they can give scholarships.
“This is also a platform where we will identify talented kids who we will further develop before we can take them to China for the 100 Team Cup. “This is the eighth edition of the tournament, and we are expecting fireworks.
“Our preparations are going very well and we are happy that all participating teams have confirmed.
“This time around, we are thrilled the tournament features teams from almost every corner of the country. We want to ensure talent from Victoria Falls to Masvingo gets a platform.”
“We hope local talent will learn from our guest team, Jadel FA Beijing. Our goal is to see the sport grow holistically in Zimbabwe.”
Harare-based Auckland FA and Power Academy will face stiff competition from Manicaland-based sides Majesa Academy and JT Academy.
The tournament also welcomes fresh faces eager to make a lasting impression, including Golden Lions Academy (Victoria Falls), Rujeko FA (Masvingo), and Soudbury Boys & Girls (Zvimba District).
This is the first time that the tournament will see girls participating.
