Blessed Katiyo in JOHANNESBURG
JAH Prayzah is returning to Johannesburg and, this time, there is a real buzz about it.
He is set for a show at Jacaranda Lounge on Saturday in Cosmo City, north of Johannesburg, and hundreds of his fans are expected to throng the entertainment venue.
It used to be called Platinum Lounge.
According to the organisers of the event, they expect a bumper crowd.
“We are looking forward to a very, very good crowd if the statistics from the pre-sale tickets is anything to go by.
“There has been a sharp increase in sales than in previous sales which indicates that Jah Prayzah’s fans have been itching for this moment,” said Chenjerai Kadzinga of Joburguru, who are hosting the event.
Live entertainment shows by Zimbabwean artists have been few and far between for fans residing in Mzansi due to the high costs in organising shows of this magnitude.
Over the last three years, JP has graced this event, which has been growing in leaps and bounds.
He will travel with his full entourage of 3G The Band.
“JP has not been in Johannesburg often this year and this is an opportunity for those who missed his few shows to follow their icon.
“We have put in place measures that all fans and their vehicles for be safe, the cars will be guarded free of charge,” added Kadzinga.
The lanky musician also hyped up the show on his social media pages which the organisers attribute to the surge in ticket sales.
Influencers such as Sis Melly will also be at the gig.
One of the key highlight to look up to will be the rising Keen Marshall Nhemachena and his Black White Band.
The youthful Joburg-based ensemble has captured the hearts of many with their polished act.
They will play as curtain raisers just before JP gets onto the stage.
“We are ready for Saturday and we will give it our best short as always,” said Nhemachena.
A number of local DJs have also been lined up and will entertain the crowds.
These include DJ Irie Dread, Inno Bee, Scorebeats and many others.
Award-winning MC Rico Myers will be the MC of the day.
“We will also have a surprise South African artist whom we will unveil on the day and the fans must come and witness this.
“We promise they will not be disappointed,” added Kadzinga.
The tickets are reasonably priced when bought via Computicket, the price will slightly rise at the gates.
“Selling tickets on the day of the show is really not the way we want to go about it as it comes with administrative hassles.
“That is why we encourage fans to buy before the show to also enjoy the discount offered,” said Kadzinga.
