CONTEMPORARY musician Jah Prayzah says fans in Bulawayo should prepare to sample songs off his latest offering — Jerusarema — when he stages a show in the city over the weekend.
The Tsviriyo hit-maker will be the main attraction at The Garden Bar (formerly Mzilikazi Square Garden) on Saturday.
This will be his first time to share Jerusarema, which was recently launched in Harare, with fans this end of the country.
The 12-track sixth album, released in May, was bought for $27,000 by business mogul Phillip Chiyangwa at the Harare International Conference Centre during its launch.
“Fans should be geared to dance the night away to my latest offering Jerusarema which I’ll mix with all time hits. I promise nothing but my best at the show,” said Jah Prayzah who last performed in Bulawayo during the Trade Fair festivities in April.
Though some have described the latest offering as a repetition of his previous works, Jah Prayzah says Jerusarema is one of a kind as he worked hard on its recording in South Africa.
“I just want to make people happy with the songs I produce. The album is unique and I hope fans enjoy it.”
The artiste’s memorabilia including hats, scarves, t-shirts and albums will be sold during the show.
Show organiser, Claude Shiri, said all was set for the show.
“We promise our patrons that there’ll be a well-stocked bar with tight security. The show will start promptly at 8PM and end in the wee hours of Sunday morning. We’ve roped in the ZRP to maintain order at the place,” said Shiri.
“Fans shouldn’t fear the cold weather as we’ve put gas heaters in place. However, it’s advisable for people to dance the night away to keep warm.”
