Burna Boy has a staggering 17 086 461 monthly listeners.
Spotify also found that the Afrobeats genre has grown by 550 percent.
Rema’s “Calm Down” became the first Afrobeats artist-led track to surpass a billion streams on Spotify, capturing the attention of audiences in Mexico and India.
Spotify Wrapped 2023, is an annual data review of how people listened to music and podcasts on the platform.
The 2023 Spotify Wrapped showed Nigeria’s dominance in the music scene across the continent, with Asake, Davido and Omah Lay occupying a spot on the top ten list.
