CONTEMPORARY ragga music sensation, Mukudzei Mukombe, popularly known as Jah Prayzah stole the show at the Makomo Resources Mine @ 3 gig, which was held at Hwange Colliery Stadium, at the weekend.Jah Prayzah shared the stage with celebrated gospel duo, Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba backed by The Fishers of Men and Suluman Chimbetu backed by his Orchestra Dendera Kings.

After his performance a lot of people were left wondering who really was he man of the moment between Jah Prayzah and Sulu?
Jah and Sulu are on top of the music radar, following their successful albums, Tsviriyo and Syllabus.

The Gochi-Gochi hit-maker backed by the 3rd Generation Band, was the darling of Hwange because of his energy on stage, as well as his military-style dressing.

Jah Prayzah sent the crowd wild with excitement, as he dropped hit after hit, mainly from his latest album, Tsviriyo.  Cecilia, Mwanasikana and Tsviriyo proved to be the fans’ favourites on the night and he capped the fine performance with a  mock military drill.

His band members took replica AK 47 assault rifles and started performing drills in a military style leaving fans asking for more.
Local Hwange group Shangano were the curtain raisers before the Fishers of Men led by Baba and Amai Charamba took to the stage.
Mai Charamba performed songs such as Manger and Mighty Name, while Baba Charamba performed songs such as Moyo Wangu and Buruka Mweya, much to the delight of crowd.

Then came along Sulu who also gave a spirited performance, as he belted out songs from his previous albums and his late father’s yesteryear hits.

Sulu inherited a huge catalogue of popular songs from his late father, Simon Chimbetu, which he plays at most of his shows.
He then called Jah Prayzah to come on stage and help him out with Sean Timba.

When Jah Prayzah sang his line on the song, the crowd loved it.
“I think Jah is a far much better artiste than Sulu. From his songs to stage performance, I think Sulu was outdone today,” said George Salimu from Number 1 area in Hwange.

Show organiser, Eusabia Rayire of Eumo Promotions, said gig was a success and plans were underway to bring more artistes to the entertainment starved town.
