Jah Prayzah who is still basking in Nama glory will tonight have the honours to officially open a new hangout in town called Dandaro Inn located at The Harare Exhibition Park. The gig will see Jah and Sister Jean Masters serenade music lovers at the trendy joint which was formerly known as Castle Bar.
The joint was refurbished and it now resembles a proper hangout for public and private functions offering the cool ambience for the discerning revellers. The VIP area is for those who want to enjoy the music without being pushed or shoved.

But since music lovers seem not to have enough of Jah, the music will play on until sunrise.

Added to the fun, is Jean Masters who is slowly weaving her way up the music ladder. Jean has moved being a backing vocalist to a leading her own band. Her mellow rhythms will move the crowd. Jean started out as a backing vocalist for her late father’s group the Masters Band where she learnt how to work magic on stage.

Jah is arguably the man-of-the-moment. He wrote his own piece of history at the 13th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards by winning a record four gongs including for Outstanding Male Musician, Outstanding Album (Tsviriyo), Outstanding Song (Tsviriyo) and the most coveted People’s Choice Award.

He could have easily won the Outstanding Video for “Mwanasikana” which was awarded to the producer Willard Magombedze. That alone spoke volumes of how talented Jah is. At least from being a curtain raiser at some of the high profile gigs, Jah has simply taken the lead is so far as live shows are concerned.

He has taken his brand to another level and he is one youngster to watch out for in the near future.  Jah is the sort of musician who does not belong to a particular genre and it is difficult to pigeon-hole his music.

However, what is known about him is that he plays nice music. Music that moves revellers. The latest “Tsviriyo” DVD album has put him in the spotlight again as he single handedly brought all the big names on the same platform. He brought together Tuku, Pastor Charles Charamba, Sulu, Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima, Winky D and Alick Macheso on “Tsviriyo” a feat which other musicians are still to achieve.

He continues to collaborate with other musicians in the likes of Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Ammara Brown.

Show organiser, Partson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions said the gig was meant to honour Nama winners.

“The gig is meant to celebrate the Nama winners and all those who were part of the ceremony. We urge music lovers to come in their numbers and join us at the party,” Chimbodza said.
