the two groups on stage and there was never a dull moment as both groups lived up to expectations.
First to hit the stage was the Barura Express fronted by the Dembo brothers Morgan and Tendai.
This was their second show after their riveting performance at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex where they were part of a bill that also featured the newcomers Extra Kwazvose.
Surprisingly, the Dembo brothers are doing well and seem to be more focused than they were before. Of course, they spiced their act with their own compositions and cover versions of their late father, the legendary Leonard Dembo.
If it’s about the sound there were no complaints whatsoever but just that the boys need to sharpen their vocals to match their late father’s level. Besides that fans had a great outing and enjoyed every minute of it.
Later, it was the Third Generation band led by Jah Prayzah who worked the stage like no man’s business. He churned out hit after hit making sure fans had a great outing. In between songs, Jah Prayzah would stop to interact with the audience. He delivered a non-stop gig and only finished his act around 2:30am but the crowd still wanted more.
Show organiserPartson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions said he was happy with the crowd and the performance from the two groups.
“We thought since it was mid-month fans were not going to show up in their numbers, but we had a good crowd and everything went smoothly,” Chimbodza said.
