Musician Jah Prayzah on Saturday donated groceries and cash at Karoi Children’s home.
The musician was accompanied by his manageress Filda Muchabaiwa and some band members.Jah Prayzah said they decided to give a certain percentage from their shows to the children’s home every month.
“We have decided to set aside a certain percentage from our shows to assist these children as we know they are in need,” he said.
They donated groceries including sugar, cooking oil, maize, candles, rice, salt, buckets, clothes, flour and money.
“It is not that I have a lot of money but we should learn to share the little that we have to those who cannot get,” he said before he performed for the children.
“When people are coming to our shows they must know that they are also donating because that percentage comes from our shows,” he said.
He urged other artistes to give back to the community in various ways.
The groceries were handed over to one of the administrators of the children’s home Allister Kandengwa.
Kandengwa who broke down after receiving the goods said since the musician started donating food to them the children had found relief.
“For the past two months he has been assisting us with food but now he has come in person to hand over these goods to us,” she said.
Jah Prayzah who had a show at Chikangwe Tarven in Karoi scoffed at the death rumours that circulated on various social platforms over the weekend and said he is as fit as a fiddle and raring to go.
