MAN of the moment, Mukudzei “Jah Prayzah” Mukombe and the Third Generation are expected to light up early Christmas celebrations in Bulawayo when they visit for a show at Club Royal on 13 December. Jah Prayzah recently welcomed back Evidence “Generator” Mudzingo who had left the group under unclear circumstances.The Tsviriyo hit-maker is a darling to many in Bulawayo who love his music and lively stage presence which always bring out the best from his band.
In an interview, Royal Club owner, Tapiwa Gandiwa said fans should expect a great show from Jah Prayzah because he is one of the best at this moment.
“We are hosting him for the second time this year and with what we saw during his first visit, we are confident it will be one of the best shows. Patrons at our club love him, this is why we are bringing him to kick start our Christmas celebrations,” he said.
Jah Prayzah’s manager, Filda Muchabaiwa said they were looking forward to giving a Christmas special to their fans that had supported them throughout the course of the year.
“We went through some good and bad times during the course of the year but our fans gave us strength to move forward. Bulawayo is a special place for us and this show provides a chance for us to end the year on a high, celebrating with our fans,” she said.
Muchabaiwa said fans would sample the band’s new songs which they have been working on for sometime and will see ‘Generator’ in action again.
“It is true ‘Generator’ has rejoined us, fans will get a chance to see her in action with the band again. There are a number of new ideas which we will be showcasing at the show, so they should come in their numbers and not miss out on these,” she said.
Generator’s return has been welcomed by the musician’s fans who love her because of her electrifying presence on stage.
The hyperactive dancer got the name Generator from her electrifying dance moves on stage which involve vigorous waist-wriggling which appeals to her fans.
Jah Prayzah, a seasoned performer, has so far released four albums, Rudo Nerunyararo (2009), Sungano Yerudo (2007), Ngwarira Kuparara (2011), Miridzo (2012) and Tsviriyo (2013).
He rose to prominence with songs such as Gochi Gochi, Maria, Sungano, Tsviriyo and Sorry Mama, which have made him a household name.
Jah Prayzah has done a number of collaborations with local artistes that include Sulumani Chimbetu on his Sean Timba (Batai Munhu) song as well as with Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi and Progress Chipfumo on songs Cecelia and Yambuka Rukova.
