SUPERSTAR Jah Prayzah and dancehall chanters Killer T and Tocky Vibes are this year’s headline acts at the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance grand finale.
The grand celebrations are set for Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo on July 27.
Ten groups will battle it out for the grand prize, which organisers have pegged at US$15 000.
The runners-up will walk away with US$10 000 and US$7 500.
Organisers, Delta Beverages, say they have garnered significant talent from participants and they are looking forward to an exciting finale.
“Preparations are well underway for the Chibuku Neshamwari National finals to be held on Saturday the 27th of July, 2024, at Mucheke Stadium, in Masvingo.
“The finale promises an exhilarating showdown as ten groups vie for the top prize.
“In addition, attendees can look forward to captivating performances by Jah Prayzah, Killer T and Tocky Vibes,” said Delta Corporation marketing director, Irimayi Muzorewa.
The competition will hold its last preliminary round in Bulawayo this Saturday where one provincial finalist will be crowned.
At least, 10 participants have registered to battle for the one last spot at Pekhiwe Bar in Bulawayo.
Groups that have made it to this year’s national finals include Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mashonaland East), Bolamba (Matebeleland South), Pezhuba Pachena (Matebeleland North), Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Mashonaland Central), Gango (Masvingo), Mkango Malawi Nyau (Midlands), Dapurahunanzva (Manicaland), Culture Warriors (Harare) and Budiriro Cultural Arts.
Some of the dances set to be showcased at this year’s finals include Mbakumba, Setapa, Dinhe, Mhande, Nyau, Chinyambera and Nsumbule.
