Musician Jah Prayzah and his wife Rufaro Mukombe have postponed their wedding, which was scheduled for October 3, following the tragic death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke, and four other people who lost their lives in the accident.

In a heartfelt statement, the couple said they are struggling to find words to describe their pain following the sudden loss of someone they regarded as family.

“Wicknell was more than a friend to us. He was family, a brother, and someone who walked closely with us through many chapters of life,” they said.

The couple said losing Wicknell and Lucy in such a sudden manner was “a pain that is difficult to put into words”.

They also extended their condolences to all families affected by the tragedy, saying: “Mwari vape nyaradzo nesimba kune vose vari kuchema panguva ino.”

Explaining their decision to postpone the wedding, they said there are moments when everything else must take a back seat.

“Pane nguva yekuti zvimwe zvinhu zvese zvinofanira kumbomira. Out of love, respect and the need to grieve with family, our wedding which was scheduled for 3 October has been postponed,” they said.

They added that they will continue with their wedding plans when the time is right.
