Zimbabwe’s most sought after musicians this Friday.
Jah Prayzah is arguably the best musician to emerge in the country in recent years. Unlike other top musicians in the country like Suluman Chimbetu, Tryson Chimbetu, Peter Moyo and Morgan Dembo, Jah Prayzah has no musician father to look up to. His music is constantly evolving and like wine he is maturing.
Jah Prayzah is expected to belt out his hit tracks that include“Gochi Gochi”, “Maria”, “Chirangano” and “Sungano”, among others.
The award-winning musician is expected to sample some of the songs off his latest album “Tsviriyo” set to be released on March 27.
Songs such “Cecilia”, that features superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, and the title track “Tsviriyo, have been sending fans into frenzy at live shows in the last few months.
While Jah Prayzah will be the main attraction, Shinsoman is expected to dish out a top-drawer performance.
Born Romeo Antony, Shinsoman is expected to belt out some of his hit songs such as “MaGhetto Yuts”, “Kukunakidza” and “Dancehall Fada”, among others.
The good thing about the gig is that fans would have an opportunity to sample songs from Shinsoman’s yet to be released album “Shamu YaBaba”.
On Sunday at the same venue, sungura greenhorns Peter Moyo and Romeo Gasa will exchange some notes. While the two have used different routes to be on the limelight, one thing remains – they are both driven by ambition to be on top.
Since his father succumbed to cancer in 2011, Peter has managed to steady the Utakataka Express ship and though he has been criticised for failing to release an album, he has constantly held shows.
Romeo Gasa has been his own man since winning the Chibuku Road to Fame a few years ago.
