Jailed for brutally murdering parents

A son who murdered both his parents by stabbing them hundreds of times before mutilating his father’s corpse has been jailed for 27 years.

Lee Tipping had tried to flee the country after killing Anthony Tipping and Patricia Livesey at their Lancashire home in November, last year.

But he was arrested by police and charged over the vicious attack, which came hours after he had broken down a bedroom door, sparking a row.

The frenzied attack by the 36-year-old saw his father Anthony stabbed more than 130 times, including at least 65 times in the chest and 15 times in the abdomen.

A jury at Preston Crown Court was told his father had also suffered a number of “very unusual” injuries to his genital area, believed to have been inflicted after his death.

The court heard Patricia had been stabbed 153 times, including 67 times in the chest, 39 in the abdomen, 10 in the neck and three times around the eyes.

Both parents had also been beaten before they died, with Patricia suffering a black eye and a shoulder injury consistent with being hit with a blunt weapon.

Tipping claimed he had been acting in self-defence, and that the genital injuries to his father were caused by him “chucking” a knife at his father, but a pathologist said this did not line up with the evidence.

A jury found him guilty of two counts of murder by the jury after a four-week trial, and he was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 27 years.

During the trial the jury heard that 57-year-old Patricia had texted her sister on the night of the attack with the message: “Please God, I hope someone will help us.”

The horrific attack took place on November 19, last year, after Patricia and 60-year-old Anthony had gone to the pub with her sister Catherine Riding and her husband-in-law Martin.

The court heard Anthony received a phone call from his son, who told him he had “kicked the bedroom door down”.

Anthony is said to have responded: “You’d better f****** not have.”

Mr Riding said that Patricia seemed “anxious” about the situation, while Mrs Riding told the court her sister seemed “scared to go home”.

She said: “She said ‘this could be my last gin’.

“She did not want to go home. She’d never really said that before. I said why, and she said she just did not want to go home. So I knew there was something.”

Shortly after arriving home, at around 11.30pm, Patricia texted Mrs Riding: “OK, I’ll probably not sleep, he’s being a f****** shit.”

Ten minutes later, she texted: “Please God, I hope someone will help us.”

The following day, when Patricia failed to arrive at her mum’s house for dinner, Mrs Riding and her other sister, Pauline Haworth, visited the house to see if she was ok.

They called 999 at 1.43pm on November 20 and the couple’s bodies were found in the upstairs of the house later that day, after police broke down a side door.

After killing his parents, Tipping booked a flight to Rome and drove to Manchester Airport, where he checked into a nearby hotel under a fake name, the court heard.

When he was arrested at around 7.30pm on November 21, he claimed he had acted in self-defence.

He told police his father had been “bullying him all his life” and was “a monster” who would “fight to the death”.

Tipping admitted to killing his parents but denied murder, claiming self-defence and loss of control against his father and loss of control in relation to the death of his mother. And following a four-week trial at Preston Crown Court, a jury rejected his defence and found Tipping guilty of two counts of murder.

Snake’s head

found in meal

A gruesome video shows how a severed snake head somehow ended up in an in-flight meal on a budget airline.

The clearly recognisable face with eyes was filmed glistening on a meal tray by a steward.

It happened on a SunExpress flight from Ankara in Turkey to Dusseldorf in Germany.

SunExpress told flight website “One Mile at a Time”: “It is our top priority that the services we provide to our guests on our aircraft are of the highest quality and that both our guests and employees have a comfortable and safe flight experience.

“The allegations and shares in the press regarding in-flight food service are absolutely unacceptable and a detailed investigation has been initiated on the subject.

“Until the research process in question is concluded, all preventive measures and actions, including stopping the supply of the relevant product, have been taken immediately.”

Sancak Inflight Services provide in-flight meals for the airline.

They said the snake head must have been added to the meal after they prepared it.

“SunExpress Airlines is a valuable client in our country and a popular airline in Europe, which recently decided to further expand its fleet and route network,” they said in a statement. They again announced a tender for catering services on board.

“We did not use any of the foreign objects that were supposedly in the food when cooking (due to the technical and thermal conditions used in the in-flight catering facilities).”

Fake blind man and

helper exposed

A man posing to be visually impaired has been exposed after he was caught on camera taking inventory of his earnings with his aide.

Apparently, the supposed blind man had courted sympathy from road users and pedestrians after he took to the streets to beg for alms in traffic in Ghana.

Some people were kind and benevolent enough to offer him money in different denominations, unknown to them that they were being scammed by an imposter.

Many social media users were stunned after the man thought to have lost his sight was filmed sharing the money he made with his assistant with his eyes wide opened.

The video was recorded and shared online by an alert road user who monitored the duo who had formed an unholy tag team to dupe unsuspecting victims to expose their antics. — Wires.
