Japanese development expert delivers public lecture

Japanese development expert Dr Kitaoka Shinichi has delivered a public lecture to parliamentarians and interested parties on lessons Zimbabwe can draw from the Asian country’s development experience.
The lecture was delivered at the new Parliament building.

Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda was among the attendees.

In his address, Dr Kitaoka said stability and democratic practices were essential as a foundation for development.

He commended Zimbabwe for its highly educated population that he said was also another key pillar for development.

Zimbabwe and Japan enjoy cordial relations with the Asian country providing assistance, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency, in road construction, agriculture and humanitarian aid among others.
