Jason apologises to SA

JASON Derulo’s recent visit to South Africa has left the star with a deep wound. On the red carpet at the MTV European Music Awards in Milan, Italy at the weekend, Jason told Daily Sun the backlash he received after making comments in South Africa that offended some have hurt him deeply.

He was attacked on Twitter just over two weeks ago after he asked the crowd if they could speak English. This was during the ANN7 South African of the Year awards.

He said the question was directed at a certain table because the people sitting there were not showing any interest in his performance. He told Daily Sun his comments were misunderstood.

“My words were directed at a specific table. I felt disrespected because they weren’t listening to what I was saying.

“I just needed to clear the air a bit. Hopefully people will understand,” Derulo said.

“All in all, I want to apologise for the way I made South Africans feel over the misunderstanding.”

He said despite the incident, he enjoyed his stay in South Africa. — DailySun.
