MBAQANGA and jazz exponent Lwazi Tshabangu says he owes his breakthrough to Lovemore “Majaivana” Tshuma, more than two decades after they parted ways.
The 54-year-old artiste, who worked with Majaivana before moving overseas, said he will never find another boss like him.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Tshabangu gave snippets of his memorable moments with Majaivana.
“I worked with Majaivana in his last years before he left Zimbabwe. I was recommended by Albert Nyathi to join him and I don’t regret the move I made then. I still miss him as a humble boss who was willing to mentor younger artists,” he reminisced.
Tshabangu, who is now focused on hotel gigs, added, “I am still active, performing at hotel gigs and other private functions. I am grateful to my fans who have embraced my brand.”
