Jazz festival lives to billing

have frequent music festivals of this magnitude.
Seasoned artistes Chiwoniso Maraire, Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana and Plaxedes Wenyika showed that like wine they are maturing with age.

The musicians managed to keep the audience on their feet.
The audience was mainly comprised of mature people who appreciate slow but soothing music.
People in the crowd could be seen nodding their heads in enjoyment.

While seasoned musicians were treading on familiar territory, “new recruits” such as Amara Brown and Jean Masters proved that with proper mentorship and guidance, only the sky is the limit.

Amara, daughter to the legendary late Andy Brown, sampled songs of her own and played her father’s hits.

Jean Masters launched her album “Misi Haifanani”.
The diminutive musician also gave a good account of herself, and judging from the reception she got from the crowd, her music is bound to soar.

Jazz 105 director Josh Hozheri said the festival was a success.
“Judging from the performances that we witnessed for the past three days, Zimbabwean women are exceptional performers.

“The whole concept about this is to celebrate womanhood. We are grateful to the sponsors for making this event possible,” he said.

Jazz 105 spokesperson Yasin Dhala said the response was overwhelming.
“We are happy with the response we have been getting from both our sponsors and the music fans in general,” he said.

The performing list also included Clare Nyakudjara, Massy, Pauline, and Sandra Ndebele among others.
