LOVE birds are expected to flock to the The Groove Club tonight where popular jazz outfit, Jazz Invitation will be dishing out their act as part of Valentine’s Day Celebrations.
Group member Kelly Rusike said fans should come and spend the night listening, dancing and singing along to love songs.
“We shall have renditions of Zimbabwean classic love songs along with regional and international ones,” he said.
Rusike said during the show there would be a lot of audience participation to keep the show lively and interactive.
“Apart from renditions we shall be singing our original songs from our new album. The show will be interactive and fun for the lovers,” he said.
The group has added two more female vocalists, award winning actress Tina Masawi and Rusike’s daughter, Courtney to the band.
Jazz Invitation has been in existence for close to a decade. The “jazz invitation” concept was conceived by drummer Sam Mataure.
The novel concept immediately became popular as it brought together musicians of different styles and talents.
Mataure left to play in South Africa while Jazz Invitation carried on, absorbing new members and talent such as drummer Victor Duarte.
Other band members are Patience Musa (vocals), Kelly Rusike (bass and vocals) Bismarck (keyboard), Simba Madzara (guitar) and Matthew Ngorima.
