In an interview, Ancient Tribe director Maizon Tazvitya said their first show will be in Hwange on Friday night.
“We have got two shows that are lined up this weekend and our first gig will be held in Hwange as part of our World Aids Day commemorations,” he said.
Tazvitya said their mission was to educate their fans on the deadly pandemic that has claimed millions of lives worldwide.
“A lot of workshops have been organised by different organisations to educate people on the deadly pandemic.
“As musicians we have also decided to chip in by using our music to also educate people on the dangers of the pandemic,” he said.
The musician said they realised that many people had little information about the deadly disease.
“This time we are going to try and use our music as a tool to educate our fans on the pandemic and we hope this will help them understand a lot about HIV/Aids,” he said.
Maizon said he will take advantage of the two shows to present his new band member Mehluli Moyo to his fans.
“The show is going to give our fans a variety in terms of music as Mehluli will have an opportunity to play some of the khaya music.
“So I am urging fans to come in their numbers,” he said.
He said the group will stage a similar show in Victoria Falls.
“The show will be more of a charity gig meant to benefit the orphans who have lost their parents to HIV/Aids,” he said.
Maizon said fans should expect a lot of songs that include Buwe Buwe, Majurumbwe, Baby Tonight, Wanga, Bongani and You do not need to call.
