Jealousy hubby taken to court

HAVING been tormented by his drunkard husband, a Mutare woman was left with no option, but to seek the protection of the law.

Chipo Matanguro appeared before Mrs Yeukai Chigodora seeking protection against her husband, Norbert.

“Your Worship, my husband is jealousy. He demands explanations each time I am greeted by other men,” she said.

She told the court that her husband was threatening her and was in the habit of visiting her workplace and causing havoc.

“He does not want my relatives to visit me at home. When I ask for permission to go and see my relatives he refuses. He is not employed and when he asks for money he becomes violent if I have nothing to give him.”

Norbert told the court that granting his wife the protection order would make her disrespect him as the head of the house.

“Your Worship, yes I do everything she alleges, but this order will make her disrespect me. I pray that this order be dismissed. I don’t like the way other men greet her, it makes me uncomfortable. I have the right to know whoever greets her because I am her husband,” he said.

Mrs Chigodora granted the order in favour of Matanguro.
