The jazz sensation was spotted with the baby during Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah show at Hwenje’s Village inGlen Norah a fortnight ago.
Jean also attended Sulu and Jah Prayzah’s show at Mushandirapamwe Hotel last Sunday with her baby.
On Tuesday last week, it was business as usual for the diva who curtain-raised for Suluman’s gig at Jazz 105.
She gave a splendid performance and it seemed she has retained her figure she had before the pregnancy.
Now fronting her own band called “The Masters,” Jean usually fuses her own songs with hits from fellow local artistes.
“The baby is well taken care of, I have to look after the baby — that is why I have continued with the shows,” she said.
Jean revealed that the father of her child was Knowledge Nkoma, a guitarist with Suluman’s Orchestra Dendera Kings.
Apparently Nkoma is married to another woman and they are not living together.
She said she first met Nkoma at her father’s workshop four years ago and they fell in love after a few months.
Jean is daughter to the late musician and businessman Joe Masters.
“Our relationship has been steady and we are both happy. The baby has not changed anything between us.
“We have time together when we are not busy with our work.
“I go for rehearsal midweek and I hold shows over the weekend. He also has his busy schedule, but we meet regularly,” she said.
Nkoma is the producer of Jean’s two albums, “Africa” and “Misi Haifanane”.
