made her way to the stage, her dressing told a story about the type of person she is. She was dressed in a fancy top and shorts with black heels to complement the outfit, proving that she is a very simple lady but dedicated to the microphone.
The artiste managed to keep the crowd at their feet during her performance with her melodic voice while the rhythm of the drums and guitars blended perfectly.
She played new and old tunes much to the delight of the crowd that was dominated by female fans. Though many were not familiar with some of her songs she still managed to get the crowd dancing, it was really hard to just sit back and watch as it was not only music to the ears.
Her second song of the night was a tribute to her father, the late Joe Masters, and the fans joined in as they sang along, showing respect for the late icon.
Through each song she managed to worm her way through to the hearts of many in the crowd. Given more opportunities, Jean is surely on her way to being the next best Sister of Jazz.
The artiste, who is currently riding high with her new album where she also features renowned sungura artist Suluman Chimbetu on one of her tracks, has received rave reviews in both print and broadcasting media.
This Friday, the diminutive diva will again illuminate Jazz 105 with her sizzling act at the home of jazz.
“I have been trying to build a big client base and I am happy that the initiative has not been in vain.”
Come this Friday Jean will seek to consolidate her position, as one of the fast emerging talented female jazz outfits, who have the energy and verve to add a new dimension to the genre. She will play songs from her second album, “Africa”, that was produced by Orchestra Dendera Kings manager Knowledge Nkoma.
Some of the songs that revellers should look forward to include “Mudiwa Wangu”, “Africa”, “Immaculate” and “Chipo Changu”.
Suluman Chimbetu, Valor, renowned saxophonist Philip Svosve and Dino Mudondo feature on the new album.
