JEFFM Auctions boss up for theft of trust property

JEFFM Auctions (Pvt) Ltd’s managing director Jeffrey Mubaiwa has appeared in court on allegations of theft of trust property.

He was granted US$100 bail and will return to court on November 5, 2024. Circumstances are that Mubaiwa was engaged by NetOne (Pvt) Ltd Zimbabwe to auction the telecommunications company’s obsolete equipment, furniture, and vehicles.

The auction was held on July 13, 2024, and a total of US$172 204 was raised. Mubaiwa was supposed to remit the money to NetOne within 48 hours.

It is alleged that he only deposited US$39,000 and converted US$133 204 to his personal use.
