beginning tomorrow.
The Harare convention is one of a series to be held throughout the country until end of September this year.
The convention will open with a keynote address this Friday focusing on the theme “Who are preaching the good news of the Kingdom.”
The Witnesses’ spokesperson Mr Effort Mugabe yesterday said tomorrow’s address will set the tone of the whole convention.
He said on Saturday there will be a discussion on the importance of Christian baptism and qualifying to receive the blessings of God’s Kingdom after which there will be an ordination of new members of the faith as ministers.
On Sunday, Mr Mugabe said: “The day’s main highlights will be the public talk concluding the morning session entitled “Will humans ruin this earth?”
A full costume drama based on the Genesis narrative about Joseph, a son of the patriarch Jacob, is going to highlight how young people can stand up to ridicule and resist peer pressure.
Mr Mugabe added: “Jehovah’s Witnesses are inviting all in the area to attend a programme focusing on a government that millions, perhaps billions, pray for.
“God’s Kingdom government, which is requested in the world famous model prayer taught by Jesus Christ, will be the focus of the 2011 “Let God’s Kingdom Come,” he said.
Mr Mugabe said everyone was invited to attend the three-day convention to learn about the topics under discussion. The Witnesses’ convention programme promises intriguing details from the Bible’s explanation of such developments.
The conventions will be held in Shona, Ndebele, English, French, Chinese and Zimbabwe sign language among others.
He said admission was free and all sessions will start at 9:20am. The Harare Assembly Hall caters for all congregations in and around Harare. Every year Witnesses hold these conventions throughout the world.
