Jeys Marabini has labelled last year as his triumphant comeback to the music scene.
Overcoming a challenging period of ill-health, Marabini staged a remarkable return with his “Meet The People” tours, enthralling audiences in Harare and Bulawayo.
The pinnacle of his resurgence was the successful UK tour, where he showcased his musical prowess.
Performing at renowned venues like Alliançe Française in Bulawayo and Harare marked major highlights for Marabini in 2023.
Collaborating with artistes such as Louis Mhlanga, Josh Meck, Selmor Mtukudzi and others in Harare showcased the growing influence of the Marabini brand, gaining national recognition.

Marabini reminisced about a fruitful 2023, stating: “Last year was great for me as I finally performed after a long battle with illness. Our tour around the country was a shot in the arm as we were able to meet a lot of influential people in the art business who helped us with logistics and made sure that our tour was successful.”
He expressed gratitude to the Government for its support, acknowledging invitations to perform at events of national significance. His passion for tourism manifested as he graced the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, a joyous experience that added to his diverse portfolio.
As part of the “Africa: A Musical Journey UK Tour 2023-24,” Marabini shared the stage with local talents Agga Nyabinde, Ma9nine, Lady Bee and South African artistes Freddie Gwala and Tshedi.

The tour included a captivating performance at WTM London, where the international leisure travel community converged. To cap off the eventful year, Marabini graced Filabusi and Victoria Falls where he participated in the Mapopoma Festival.
Looking ahead, Marabini, a cultural and music ambassador, is set to perform in Sheffield and Peterborough in England, continuing to take the Zimbabwean sound to distant shores. He has also hinted at an upcoming album and a line-up of exciting shows for his fans. —@MbuleloMpofu
