Jilted lover clings on to ex’s vehicle

A woman yesterday told the Harare Civil Court that her ex-boyfriend is living in her late husband’s car which he is now refusing to hand over to her.

Ndaizivei Choto claimed Tendai Mupanze was in the habit of physically and verbally abusing her over petty issues.

Choto was seeking a protection order against Mupanze whom she was accusing of breaching her peace.

“He took my late husband’s car and is refusing to give it back to me claiming that he was living in it,” she said.

Choto told magistrate Ms Audrey Tarugarira that she had to seek medical attention after being seriously assaulted by Mupanze sometime this year.

“I want this court to order him to hand over my late husband’s car to me and to stop physically and verbally abusing me,” said Choto.

Mupanze claimed Choto stole his passport and gave it to her brother who wanted to go to South Africa.

“We only quarrelled once after she stole my passport and gave it to her brother who wanted to go to South Africa,” he said.

Mupanze told the court that he was living in Choto’s late husband’s car and his belongings were stashed there.

Ms Tarugarira deferred the matter to today for ruling and ordered Choto to bring medical receipts to prove that she was once treated after being assaulted by Mupanze.
