A JILTED woman from Bulawayo’s Luveve suburb stormed into her ex-boyfriend’s house and allegedly struck him with a bottle following a dispute, a magistrate heard.
Western Commonage provincial resident magistrates Willard Maphios Moyo heard how on the night of December 15, 2013, Nomvelo Masuku, 40, stormed into her ex-boyfriend, Innocent Tauro’s residence in New Luveve, hoping to rekindle their relationship.
Masuku, who had not been invited, attracted the ire of Tauro who immediately reacted by ordering her out of his house.
“Tauro ordered Masuku to leave his house, saying he was no longer interested in her. An altercation ensued between the two as Masuku refused to go,” said Tatenda Dakwa, prosecuting.
Pierced by Tauro’s words of rejection, Masuku picked a bottle and struck her ex-lover in the head and he sustained a deep cut on the forehead. He needed hospital treatment.
Masuku pleaded not guilty to assault and the magistrate remanded her out of custody to today for trial.
