Jockstar complements Govt initiatives

setting up major road networks at its Mt Pleasant Heights Phase 2 project which is expected to complement Government efforts in tackling the housing backlog.
Jockstar Investments (Pvt) Ltd are managing the project while Pride Real Estate headed by Dr Zivanai Mazhambe are selling and managing it.
The project, also known as Zisalisari Lot 4, will see hundreds of middle-income earners acquire properties in low-density residential areas.

Government has a backlog of over 1 250 000 units countrywide which has been partly attributed to lack of mortgage finance. To achieve the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, Government has called on partners from the corporate world to assist initiatives that benefit the people.
IBI owner Engineer Antony Parehwa yesterday emphasised the need for various stakeholders to assist Government in its programmes.

Parehwa said he was motivated by other successful low-density residential projects like Mount Pleasant Heights phase 1, Westgate, Adylinn and Cold Comfort.
“If the issue of decent accommodation is to be achieved, Government has to be supported by all stakeholders. What we want to achieve is to redefine upmarket residential housing development by launching Mount Pleasant Heights Phase 2.

“The area is not only strategically located but is also priced affordably to enable a rare opportunity to middle-income earners to acquire a prime stand and build their dream houses,” he said.
Eng Parehwa added: “Whilst our initial projects offer people a chance to have their dream houses, this latest initiative is a new benchmark for notable modern housing developments, that will compete with

upmarket developments in the Southern African region.”
He said the project was not only complementing Government initiatives of offering affordable housing to high- and middle-income earners but also contributing to the country’s overall economic growth.

“Acquiring a piece of land from experienced developers under the current economic conditions is a safe and rewarding investment and enables the would-be investor to lock value that will benefit, not only the owner but also the next generation,” Engineer Parehwa said. The project, which has more than 350 stands, started in 2008 but progress had been stalled by lack of funds as a result of the hyperinflationary environment during that period.

Commercial and church stands together with a convenience shopping centre are also available.
